Dealing with Change
| by Carol Giannantonio | April 15, 2007
Maybe youre stuck, feeling unfulfilled and unhappy, but not able to make changes in your life to meet your goals. Maybe youre vaguely dissatisfied and arent even sure whyand where to begin to find happiness. Perhaps you stressed and overwhelmed with work or life in general.
Are you feeling physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted? You dont have energy to enjoy the things you use to. You know you want to improve your health and work on having better personal or family relationship but you just cant seem to get started or you dont know where to start. Making changes means taking risks. It requires commitment and courage. As an experienced coach, I support and guide my clients every day on the empowering and life transformation journey of Change.
Understanding Change
The very sound of the word can create anxiety and discomfort, sometimes even fear. If we arent too busy avoiding it ourselves, the resistance to it that we encounter in others can be fierce and surprising. Even if we know change is an everyday part of life and we know that in fact it may hold the solutions to so many of our challenges we still arent always sure of exactly how to effectively manage it, let alone thrive within it.
Latest Research on Change
New research about our brains is now revealing exactly why change is so hard and what we can do to harness it for insight, creativity, and performance, in the workplace and beyond. You can read more about this fascinating concept here in September's CIO Magazine cover story where Results Coaching Systems founder David Rock and renowned research psychiatrist Jeffrey Schwartz discuss the basic neuroscience of change, and suggest strategies for making change easier on ourselves, and others.
As a student of David Rock and graduate of Results Coaching Systems, I use the principles of neuroscience in my coaching. We call this brain based coaching. The results are incredible! To learn more about brain based coaching and experience a free trial session contact me at carolgcoach@aol.com.
