Everyone must have experienced certain fears and anxiety at all points of time beginning right from childhood and some of these fears also turn out to be real later in your life. These fears are also good in a way especially for the children as they start preparing themselves to cope up with their fears if they will experience it later in their life. So, they start facing challenging situations as well.
These fears and anxieties are normal and it occurs when the person experiences no immediate threat to his safety or well being but he feels that the fear is real. So, due to this fear the person starts feeling anxious and he wants to escape from that situation at any cost. Some of the symptoms of fear are: the persons heart starts beating rapidly, he begins to perspire like anything, and he also starts experiencing butterflies in his stomach. If your kid has a fear of something then it is also helpful in certain ways. For example, your kid has a fear of fire then he will avoid playing with the matches which helps in relieving your fear as well. The fears also change when a child stats growing. When the child is a little baby then he clings to his parents with a lot of force if an unknown person is calling him. Then, the toddlers develop different kind of fear if he witnesses any of his parents leaving him. Slightly grown up children, say around 4 to 6 years old, fear about the monsters and the ghosts as they consider them to be real. Then kids who are around 10 to 12 years of age might fear about the real circumstances that they might encounter at some point of time. For example, they might fear about the injury that they might suffer at some point of time.
However, all these fears are considered to be dangerous if they start persisting later in life as well. They prove to be dangerous as they start affecting the sense of well being of the child. If you child fears socializing it can have serious long term effect on the child. Your child fails to learn some of the important social skills that are required and as such it results in his social isolation as well. Your child may in the later stages of his life fear to speak up publicly because he might have experienced some public humiliation earlier in his life which may discourage him to speak up.
One thing that parents can do in order to help their children come out of their fear is to always listen to the problems of their children with a sympathetic ear and always try to help them so that they rid themselves of their fears and develop physically and mentally.
