Ralf Schumacher will abandon Toyota

The 32 years old Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher announced that would abandon the Toyota motor-racing team at the end of this season, due to -according to him- is in search of new challenges. For the moment, he doesn’t know which team he will join next year.

The driver published in his web site that he will have several negotiations on the next weeks and he will announce his decision when the 07’ season finishes. Schumacher also said that for him is not so important the economic aspect as the possibility to develop a competitive single-seater.

Schumacher, who occupies a discreet 14th place in the Formula 1 pilot’s classification, remained out in the 55 lap of the Grand Prix of Japan, celebrated in the Mount Fuji in Shanghai.

At a few weeks from the two last Grand Prix races of the season, Schumacher shows his worse season since his apparition in the Formula 1, in 1997.

Ralf Schumacher, who was in Jordan (1997-98), later in Williams (1999-2004), before being part of Toyota’s team in 2005, has disputed 174 Grand Prixes, with six victories for a total of 27 podiums.
