With two goals over Brazil, by Birgit Prinz and Simone Laudehr, on September 30, Germany achieved to win the FIFA Women's World Cup title by second consecutive year. In the second half of the game Marta (the Brazilian star) lost the chance to change the score when Germany’s keeper Nadine Angerer stopped her penalty.

Showing a great defense by Ariane Hingst and Annike Krahn, the German team achieved to dominate the possession of the ball during most of the game. Being host of the 2011 Women's World Cup, Germany has the soccer team record to go through a major senior competition having no goals scored against.

At the fifth minute of the first half, Germany had its best chance when Kerstin Garefrekes shot a sharp-angled that hit the side of the net. In the 24 minute the game got more exiting when Daniela shot the ball in a rough hit into the left post and then headed it over the bar, after the rebound.

At the start of the second half, Germany went harder in its attacks, achieving the reward in the 52 minute, when Sandra Smisek strike a regular shot that passed under Brazil goalkeeper Andreia direct to the net.

During the last minutes of the game, Brazil tried to pressure Germany, but the green-yellow team didn’t get any opportunity to achieve it, being this a decisive fact of the game.
