Economic Treason!

America, the home of the free, the home of grand opportunity and the chance to chase one’s dream no matter who you are or where you come from. This wonderful land of our forefathers, land defended by those before us, those who died to protect us from enemies outside our boarders is being destroyed by a greater enemy from within!
I am not speaking of terrorist, whom we can hunt down and destroy. I am speaking of a greater threat than those responsible for 9/11. The enemy is those who claim a “love” for are country, they live among us, they call themselves friends, yet, they are as dangerous, if not more so, then the foe who betrayed our founding fathers: Benedict Arnold, Even worse, they are protected by and a part of our own government!
Under the guise of globalization, businesses and elected officials are taking and encouraging free trade and replacing American jobs with those outside the USA. We are being sold out! One of my own relatives works in China while being paid by his American employer to setup and operate a base in China. A move that takes American jobs outside America. More and more companies have been doing this for some time. Our government, the one that’s supposed to protect American interests, is doing nothing to stop it! In my opinion, they encourage it!
America, one of the greatest purchasing powers in the world, must stop this legal form of treason. If not, we will lose our jobs, our livelihoods and have no purchasing power. We will become the most technologically advanced third world country! These treasonous acts are making other nations wealthy while destroying our own national existence!
We must implement a two-tier protection. By ending free trade and reestablishing a national tariff we will be protecting our nation’s businesses. Our country can’t complete with wages paid in other countries. One example being China: workers make 50-75 cents, not dollars, an hour, they work 12-14 hours a day, 6-7 days a week and get one week of vacation! Take 75 cents an hour, 14 hours a day and 7 days a week with our overtime labor laws and what do you get? Less then $110.00 for 98 hours of work! That’s $5,720 a year. Anyone ready to signup? Americans CAN’T complete!
The problem with tariffs is that big business gets greedy and wants to raise its prices since they are protected by the tariffs. This would cause the consumer products to vastly outpace the employee’s pay. Thus, the second level of protection is needed. Automatic mandatory cost of living increases must be required for all workers to protect the employee from the employer and force some of the profits down to the workers. This two-tier system protects both businesses and employees.
If Americans do nothing, the American dream will be just that: only a dream, a wish, a fantasy. Our forefathers will have died in vain and our future generations will work as economic salves with no hope for a bigger brighter future. While terrorism is a major threat to us, economic treason is no less a threat and MUST be dealt with.
