Democracy

The skies fade as darkness spreads across the land,
welcoming the plague that cursed all of man.
It concerns both power and money
Leading to the gradual destruction of our economy.
They use our earnings to live their lives in luxury
And bury us deeper and deeper into the heart of poverty.

The price of food is rising and so is the cost if living
Could you believe inflation has hit a double digit?
Here we are, afraid to take a stand for it.
What was once a poor man’s platter
Is now a rich man’s diet
Yet we remain quiet, only fussing instead of making a riot.

They persist in neglecting the homeless
That has constantly been without jobs
Who turn to crime to settle down.
Now, guns, drugs and rum are shipped in at night
Although there’d be no difference if it was during the daylight.
The police are patrolling but for their benefit
As they confiscate items that helps make them a faster profit.

We’re a speck compared to our sister countries, yet we share almost the same difficulties.
The nations tremble, and with a new era everyone is fooled with greed, power and wealth and no one to turn to in our time of need.
A new kind of war fills our minds as we forget what the others has said in their times. Once their ruled, the great men of power that took their country forward, aiming for the highest peak.
In this time politics have evolved and is only filled with the weak.

Behind the scene we take a shocking glimpse
Something’s happening to the country. Something strange, have you noticed?
They complain, they fight and they misrule the land
Leading us with a great crisis on our hands.
Keep your eyes open. As the drama unfolds you will see what’s right as the blind leads the blind into a stormy night.
The world has become corrupted
With all it’s honesty squeezed out
Waiting for us the people to stand and take a shout
