Emerald Passport Inc - Scam Or Legit Opportunity?
| by Hillary Patz | March 19, 2008
As I was researching the internet for a legitimate work at home business opportunity, I ran across numerous companies. One that stood out from others was one called Emerald Passport Inc. Upon further review, I made my decision to not join this company. Let me share why:
My first impression of the company was quite positive (based on their website). However, after reading about how their system works, I was quickly un-impressed.
How the system works:
You can join the package that allows you to earn 75 percent commission for $1,295. The products in which Emerald Passport markets are: self-help, financial knowledge (such as forex), and also real estate courses. I feel these are great, quality products that most people could benefit from. Also, after joining, you receive a replicated website page along with a flash captivating video (this is a nice feature for stirring up conversation).
Now, the downside to this system is that you will not get paid instantly on your first sale (or even your second sale for that matter). The Emerald Passport system works on a typical 2-up compensation plan. This means that your first 2 sales (the people who join under you) goes directly to your sponsor. This compensation plan can be quite discouraging but, nonetheless, the top earners market it as a fact, that you will get paid the same way. But most people know that the first two sales are the hardest to get. So, what is your cost to join this business, before you can actually make a profit? It's about $3,295 ($2,000 commissions you must give up to your sponsor, plus the $1,295 initial fee).
I feel that there are better options out there for us "work at home" seekers. I really don't like the 2-up compensation plans, personally. But if you don't mind passing up your first two sales, then maybe you should give Emerald Passport a try.
