This is a overview of the types of programs available to you today. There is a lot more information involved but this should point you into the right direction.
So you say you are looking for a home based business to make more money in 2008. You are excited and ready to go, you have a budget and have checked out everything you could find. The only question is what to do? There are literally thousands off opportunities out there and choosing one that fits your need and your budget is the most important. Let's take a look at the most popular one's.
MLM or Multi Level Marketing :
Multi Level Marketing is a concept that pays you on different levels depending on your number of member's. It may sound simple but when you get into pay structure's things can become complex. You are usually brought in by a distributor of the company you are joining. You become there direct down line on there first level. Anyone you bring into the company becomes your first level and your sponsors second level. Your sponsor is paid for you joining there down line and everyone you bring into your first line, hence the term multi-level marketing. These can be good if you have a list of follower's or you are good at recruiting member's yourself. But it's takes a while and a lot of dedication to get your down line to the point where you are generating a serious amount of money. Theses programs run a full range of price and are usually billed on a monthly cycle for you to keep there products.
Direct Sales:
Direct sales are just that, direct sales. You the member or affiliate are doing business with the customer directly. You advertise and the prospect calls you, you are responsible for making the sale. Once the prospect has joined the company and paid you the money that is usually it. You are paid for your efforts, and there is usually a membership fee and you much purchase the product that you are selling.
Cash Gifting:
Cash gifting is coming under some bad weather lately. The whole idea behind cash gifting is that you are giving your sponsor a gift. the range is any where from $500-$12000 dollars! Also there is a annual fee for being a member. In these programs there is no moderator for the money you are receiving. The prospect send you money (cash) through the mail overnight inside a magazine or something else to hide the fact they are sending you money. In cash gifting there is never a product or exchange of goods between the sponsor and products. This raises red flags and most all gifting operations are questioned. Be ready to have to explain your position to all prospects as they will always ask you "how is this program legal". Leaving you to give a vague smoke screen type answer.
The Australian One Up System:
Now this isn't an actual type of business it's more of a pay structure. Its worth noting that any company who has this type set in place usually has something good going. Now the Australian one up is very simple here it goes: You want to join company "x", you are invited by Pam, you decide to join company x and have to pay your money, you send your money to Pam which brings you into the program. Now as a new member you have the responsibility of getting qualified which puts you into position to earn money forever. So you bring in Judy, she sends you her money, you then in return send the money Judy just sent you to Pam ( your direct sponsor) who then qualifies you. Now you are in the money forever! No passing money to a fat cat on top.
There you have it a few of the most popular types of home business opp's out there. Remember to watch yourself and who you are dealing with. usually your gut will tell you if this is something you want to get involved with. There ARE people out there who are only looking to screw you, thats life. But on the other hand there are good people out there who want to see you succeed.
