Are you Considering Envelope Stuffing for Cash?
Envelope stuffing scams have been around long before the internet was invented. What makes them so appealing is that you are promised to be paid for doing a simple task in your own home. The logistics just dont add up though when you take into account the machines used for stuffing thousands of envelopes per hour. There is no way a company would pay you $2-$4 per envelope stuffed, yet many people get scammed by this every year.
The Scam
Typically the business is offered in the form of a job where the company will offer you the chance to complete this simple task in your own home and get paid for doing it. But I order to get started they first insist that you pay some sort of non-refundable registration fee or materials fee. The materials fee is often called a starter kit and can contain anything but normally they contain nothing. This sounds confusing doesnt it? Well its supposed to be, remember it is a scam after all. You are told that once you stuff the envelopes and mail them out, you will be paid a commission on the sales you generate.
These envelope stuffing scams are typically advertised in local papers, websites or by receiving a letter about it. It can sound so appealing at first, I mean they are offering you the chance to sit around your house all day placing flyers in envelopes and making a trip to the local post office to mail the letters.
Once you send them the money for the starter kit they will send out a whole load of useless materials explaining how you will be spreading the news about the envelope stuffing business. This is where the doubt sets in and you realise they havent given you a real phone number or a postal address other than a P.O Box number.
Just Think
So if you come across a home based business in the form of envelope stuffing, stop and think about the wonderful advances in technology where there are machines that will stuff more envelopes in a week than you could in a year. It really is amazing how people fall for this tie and time again when there are real work from home opportunities on the internet that are making the clever people really rich and you dont have to scam people to earn a decent living.
