CUE Music Database One Month Old
| by Gary Simpson | March 24, 2008
CUEmdb started publishing exactly one month ago today. It's empty database was keenly populated by music fans from all over the world so that at launch, the music of 600 popular bands and artists was available to peruse. At the time of writing, there are 3,331 artists stored in, what is becoming, one of the most thorough music-related repositories in the world. The creepy crawly robots that probe the entertainment half of the web have accrued over 1500 news articles (I make that 51.72 articles per day!). They have indexed an astonishing 63,305 videos for said artists and helped real human people record around 800 photos under Creative Commons license.
All this has happened in just 29 days. What's more is that it's growing and growing at a phenomenal rate, by a combination of visitor input, those robot things and a team dedicated to providing a simple central place for music fans, no matter what popular music genre you're in to.
The mind boggles at where we'll be on our first birthday!
