As a Banglorean, I am proud of your cricketing career, your down-to -earth answers to questions after a match and your impeccable communication skills. If you have set up some Foundation for a cause, hats off to you if you havent to date, can I offer a suggestion for what it is worth?
Bangalore is a Youth city with students hailing from different parts of the country and the world. They stay in privately hired accommodation or in Hostels. Most of them are rich and have gotten into academic programmes on the strength of their money. But they are smart and would love to be part of a movement other than drinking at Pubs eave teasing going on long drives that end fatally and so many other activities that do not get them anywhere other than trouble.
So Rahul, how about launching a Youth Culture Club? This could have daily two hour evening programmes in Poetry reading Ghazal singing mono cat Mimicry Art appreciation humor.. Musical instruments karaoke . Musical soirées the list is endless. Bangalore has enough talent to be showcased at these special gatherings which will be membership driven to weed out anti-social elements. You could tie up with PEPSI to (Indra Nooyi will love it) provide eats and their aerated water and local organizations would love to sponsor these events. Since you are a busy person, you could hire MBAs with an aptitude for such activities and let them run the show. Or you can outsource it to an event management outfit.
