10 Shopping Tips for Teen Girls

| by Jasmine from www.GirlsLikeStuff.com | October 15, 2007
The web is a fabulous way to see the world. Using your computer allows you to get all kinds of information on all kinds of things.

It is especially cool to use the internet to shop. This is really true for teenage girls, like me, who love to shop, explore and compare the latest clothes, makeup, accessories, computer gear and athletic equipment.

I have gathered some online shopping tips below based on my conversations with some of the teenage girls who are members of the free online shopping site GirlsLikeStuff.com. These tips will make for a great online shopping experience.

1. Register at GirlsLikeStuff.com so that you can shop for free at stores all over the world. (Make sure you add the GirlsLikeStuff.com Shopping Wizard to your Favorites list.)
2. Try new stores each time you shop online. This is especially great for teenage girls who like to see a lot of things while they’re shopping.
3. Use the internet’s ability to search wordwide. Search the internet for the clothes, shoes, accessories and gifts you want. Use the web as a tool to make the right toy choice. For example, if you are shopping for prom shoes, you can use a search engine like Yahoo or Google to search for the phrase "best prom shoes." Look through the results obtained which will point you in the right direction. Vary the search phrase for example, instead of typing "best prom shoes" you could try "stylish prom shoes" for a whole new set of results.
4. Don’t rush the buying decision. Sometimes when a teenage girl is shopping at a mall store she gets pressured because the salesperson knows that she’s young and might be easily swayed. That’s another reason why shopping online and using GirlsLikeStuff.com is perfect for teen girls.
5. Shop with a friend or family member who has style and taste. (It could be your mom!)
6. Make sure you buy all the pieces to the "look" you’re putting together. (Get the blouse that goes with the skirt that goes with the shoes…)
7. Get feedback from others on the clothes or accessories you’re considering. (On GirlsLikeStuff.com you can ask other site members to help you choose between two or more items.)
8. Ask other members of GirlsLikeStuff.com to tell you their experiences with the store you’re considering buying from. This way you’ll find out the good or the bad, before you buy!
9. After you have found something you’re interested in buying online, try to get any available Discount Coupons. Discount coupons are often listed on the seller’s website or elsewhere on the internet. Check out the seller’s homepage for featured discounts. You should also do a search online for coupons.
10. Avoid Taxes: I did some research and you can only be charged sales tax if the store you’re buying from or the seller is physically located in your State. You will save money of you shop from a store located outside your State.
11. BONUS TIP: Make sure you understand the store’s return and exchange policy. Only buy from those stores that will let you return or exchange your item without any hassle.
