Low Cost Wind Generators- The power generating breeze of the future

| by Malcom Reynolds | July 31, 2008
Wind is a powerful energy producer that almost anyone with a yard and some extra cash can harness. Low cost wind generators are nothing new, but recently they have been making the news—at least in my area. It seems more people are catching on to the fact that renewable energy source technology has advanced to the point where almost anyone can use it. Here are tips to get the lowest costing wind generators.

The government is behind these renewable resources and is willing to pay you money to produce electricity. The government is working with the electric companies to pull more people in with benefits and bonus packages. Every state has some sort of program that when boiled down simply means the electric company gives you money or retail credits for free electricity. You absolutely have to learn about these programs and sign up .

Now, don’t get scared by any of this because as long as your wind generator is producing electricity you’re fine. The thing could be made out of rubber ducks, as long as it produces electricity, you qualify. Wind generators are nothing new; they’ve been on a steady upward spiral for a while now and finally have hit the low cost range of under $200 dollars.

One of my favorite aspects to owning such a low cost generator is that when tragedy strikes you can cheaply and quickly replace it. Last week I decided not to wait for tragedy to strike and built a second wind generator atop my shed. I can’t stress enough how great of an investment this was for me. I’m assuming it will be for everyone else as long as they make the most of the governments tax credits
and find a good low cost wind generator--Or better yet generators.
