The History behind VOIP

The journey of VOIP started in 1996. The first VOIP product was launched in then and was introduced by "Computer Telephony Integration" magazine. The first voip reviews product was named VOCALTEC, the software implementation of VOIP. It hit the market successfully and got positive reviews in magazine.
People got a new way of calling and VOIP created a history of his own.
VOIP overview
Many companies have implemented VOIP and have supplied the users with a wide range of VOIP service software. Two of the more successful companies are Vonage and Lingo.
Vonage is one of the most widely used VOIP service providers, which holds a big share in the VOIP market. Vonage is basically affordable to all users, and provides a high quality sound transfer. Unlike many other VOIP providers, Vonage provides online, phone support and 911-call routing. Additional add-ons to basic features are:
Virtual Phone Number:
This feature gives the users option to receive calls from people outside their calling area with the caller paying only for a local call
Soft Phone:

This facility is automatically available .The public safety answering point (PSAP) of Lingo gets connected to the localized area.
