Depending On One Income Can Be Really Dumb
| by Nicholas Dixon | April 24, 2008
During the days of formal schooling, it was taught that we should
work hard and get good grades to enable us to get a good paying
job when we enter the working world. This was considered the
standard way to carve out a living and to provide for our
families.
When we actually start to work and begin to assume
responsibility for our well being, we realize that life is not
as rosy as they said. We were not taught how to deal with the
ever rising prices of essential goods and services or how to
adjust to the constant changes in our lifestyle.
It can be hard for a single mother or father to take care of
three children who are all in school. Many a night's sleep is
lost on considering how a sudden and serious illness for
example, would be a tragic blow to their lifestyle.
Nowadays, it is hard to survive on a single paycheck from your
job. Unless you are in management or an executive, chances are
that you are living from paycheck to paycheck. And it is hard to
break this vicious cycle. Moving on to another job could just
result in more of the same thing. Half a dozen of one, six of
the other as they say in my country.
By using the power of your creativity, you can break the chains
and become financially secure and abundant. Those cookies that
your co-workers think is out of this world could be your ticket
to fortune. The secret lies in using your talents and skills to
eventually start a business on the side.
You can start small and begin gaining valuable business
experience and also improve your technical skills. Start
developing contacts and business leads on a weekly or daily
basis, with the aim of getting a few contracts to get you going.
It won't be easy. Not everyone who you contact will be
interested in your proposal or solution. Rejection is a part of
the game, so get use to it and just keep on moving. There will
be times when you will lose motivation, but don't let this
affect your momentum too much.
Have you ever been asked by a child to buy something for them
and you could not afford it even though it was relatively cheap?
It was then that you really realized the power of money and how
it can contribute to the well being of your family. Use your
creativity to release the forces of abundance into your life.
What talent or skill do you possess that can benefit others or
be a solution to their problems? You can bet that many would be
willing to pay for the value that you provide them. Become
creative and use that power to provide the financial security to
protect your family from the constraints of an income from a 9-5
job.
