The 2009 Genesis is Hyundais flagship sports sedan that offers capabilities and premium features on par with the worlds top luxury sports cars. The Genesis is the first Hyundai model built on a new rear-wheel-drive architecture for the US market.
The 2009 Genesis is available with two drivetrains - Hyundai's all-new Tau 4.6-liter V8 engine and the 290-horsepower 3.8-liter DOHC V6 engine. The Tau generates 375 horsepower using premium fuel and 368 horsepower using regular unleaded. Both engines are environmentally friendly achieving Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) certification levels.
With technology rivaling more expensive luxury sedans, Genesis exhibits features such as Adaptive Front Lighting System, eight ultrasonic sensors located on the front and rear bumpers, rear backup camera, XM NavTraffic, electronic active front head restraints and Lexicon audio systems. A stiffer, lighter body structure improves ride and handling and reduces noise levels inside the cabin.
Genesis is equipped with cutting-edge standard safety technologies such as eight airbags, electronic stability control, electronic active head restraints, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist and electronic brake distribution, and traction control.
The 2009 Genesis is covered under the Hyundai Advantage, America's Best Warranty. Coverage includes 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper protection, and seven-year/unlimited mileage anti-perforation coverage. Genesis buyers also get 24-hour roadside assistance coverage at no extra charge for five years (no mileage limit) and the service includes emergency towing, lockout service and limited coverage for trip-interruption expenses.
