Lincoln comes out with the 2009 MKS.

Lincoln, the luxury division of Ford, has come out with the 2009 version of its premium full-size sedan, the MKS.
The 2009 Lincoln MKS, being Lincoln’s flagship brand, comes with various luxury features. Its competition includes names such as Lexus GS; Infiniti M; Cadillac CTS and Acura RL. The Lincoln MKS offers the advantage of price over that of its main rivals. Being based on the Taurus, this is a very spacious sedan.
Engine
The 2009 Lincoln MKS is given a 3.7-liter; V-6 engine with power of 273 horsepower and 265 lb ft of torque. This engine is teamed to a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. The transmission comes with SelectShift, a feature that enhances fuel economy and makes gear shifting smooth during acceleration. The 2009 Lincoln MKS offers mileage of 17/ 24 on regular unleaded. A front-wheel drive system is standard; while all-wheel drive system is optional.
Interiors and exteriors
The Lincoln MKS’ outstanding exterior feature is the “split-wing” grille, which brings back memories of the classic 1941 Continental. Its other exterior features include thin, horizontal headlights that include an optional adaptive feature by swiveling in the direction the vehicle takes; standard 18-inch and optional 19 and 20-inch wheels; metallic window frames, door sills and xenon headlights.
The Lincoln MKS is equipped with a long list of luxury features for the interiors, as well. Its music system consists of a THX II certified 5.1 Surround Sound Audio System with a 600 watt-stereo and 14 speakers. It also has the Travel Link System, which guides the driver to a variety of destination including the nearest gas station with the cheapest price.
Other important luxury amenities for the interiors include SYNC, a Bluetooth-enabled wireless communication system, using which the driver can use the audio controls with just the voice.
Keyless entry; power tilting and telescopic, leather wrapped steering wheels; engine start system and adaptive cruise control are among its other important interior luxury features. The cruise control is unique: it has a radar which maintains one of three preset gaps between MKS and the vehicle in front of it. Once these vehicles get too close to each other, the sensors make the car slow down to the distance that has been set. Conversely, as soon as that predetermined gap widens, MKS gets back to its preset speed.
The spacious interiors come with 38.6 inches of legroom for the second row and 41.9 inches for the first. Its trunk has 18.7 cubic feet of space.

Some novel safety features are given for the 2009 Lincoln MKS. These include six air bags, which are inclusive of side curtain bags to protect everyone in the car; Occupant Classification System which senses the size of a front seat occupant in order to determine air bag deployment strength; Adaptive Collapsible Steering Column, which varies in collapsibility according to the size and belted status of the driver and Front-seat side airbags that are placed to give extra chest protection for the driver and front passenger.
Other standard safety features are anti-lock braking system; Traction Control; SOS Post-Crash Alert System and stability control.
