Cars and Safety – Beware of that Horn!

| by Napoleon Miles | November 05, 2008
Honking must only be used in particular circumstances. With one hand on the horn, we often forget how we hate being honked at ourselves. Others can have that same insulted feeling too.

It may be also infuriating when you honk and the car in front of you won’t get off the way quickly enough from a signal. But there can be times when that behavior occurs because of some problem with the car which may happen to you too. So be a little patient and limit your honking.

At other times you may actually be making the driver in front of you panic by honking. Panic is perhaps your worst enemy when on the road. It can make the person honked at unsafe for the road. Further more the individual honked at may be intimidated by your behavior.

Many individuals are infuriated when honked at. So they will stubbornly continue on their way and will not move to let you surpass. If this is the case do not continue to honk. It may infuriate the individual honked at more and more. This may sometimes result in unpleasant situations.

Honking to an individual may also increase road rage. Further more excessive honking by an individual may also be a sign that that particular individual suffers from road rage. Remember that for some individuals road rage is a medical condition. The blaring sound of the horn of your car will do nothing to calm them down.

So when you get the urge to honk one time too many at someone irritating you, think about the effects on this simple act on other individuals. One must be considerate of others.
