Cars and Efficiency Plan Your Outings and Save on Fuel
| by Napoleon Miles | November 05, 2008
Using your car excessively will only make you burn fuel unnecessary and diminish the lifetime of your car. It is surprising how much you can save on your cars fuel with some planning.
It is easy to get into the mode where a whim will make you drive out to the store to get something just because you have a car. It makes your job so much easier than a walk would.
Problem with that approach is that while you are being active, you are wasting a lot of fuel doing something that could have been done economically if you had planned before hand.
Our way of living nowadays is full of stress. It is very easy to forget simple chores. Therefore you may consider keeping a list. It is easy enough to do that.
Keep a list of the chores you need done on the refrigerator, or somewhere where others in the house will notice it. Anything needed from the store can be added. The person taking the car can actually get everything in one easy trip instead of two or three where you don't only waste fuel, but time as well.
I love home deliveries, especially when they are free because they do not require me to drive out to get the ordered food. But take away dinners are fine too. Just make sure to call ahead and ensure they are not going to make you wait for your order once you are there. Same applies to pick up the laundry and things where you can take the delivery in a few seconds if you can get the other party to play along.
